Motor Dealers Fined Over Insurance

Fines amounting to over 175,000 were issued to five separate motor dealers, due to their handling, and mismanagement of payment protection insurance policies.
The Financial Services Authority said that no fewer than 2,175 customers had been effected by the failings of the said motor companies, and that it was wholly unsatisfactory.
The FSA, who regulate payment protection insurance, took action against Ringways Garages in Leeds, Parks of Hamilton, who operate out of Lanarkshire, George White Motors, who's head offices are in Swindon, and GK Group, who are based in Chesterfield. All the fines relate to payment protection that was sold alongside loans for motorbikes as well as cars.
